Effective 21 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-21
01Who we are
This notice explains how Boatbrothers Private Limited (“Boat Brothers”, “we”) handles personal data collected through this website, boatbrothers.in. For this website we decide why and how your data is used, so we are the data fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and the body corporate responsible under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011.
- Company
- Boatbrothers Private Limited (“Boat Brothers”)
- CIN U62099AS2024PTC026685 · GSTIN 18AAMCB7380H1Z9
- 202, Lokhra Road, Near Hanuman Mandir, Adagudam, Lal Ganesh, Guwahati, Assam 781034, India
02Personal data we collect
We collect only what you choose to send us, and a few technical details needed to run the site safely.
- Enquiry and quote form (/contact-quote): your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and organisation; what the enquiry is about, the project stage, a rough budget range and the details you write. The form does not accept file attachments.
- Consent record: when you send the form we record that you ticked the consent box, the version of this notice, the time on our server, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent. This is how we can show that notice was given and consent obtained.
- Job applications (/careers): there is no careers form on this site. If you apply by email or WhatsApp, we receive what you send, usually your name, contact details, CV and messages.
- Email, phone and WhatsApp: if you contact us directly, we receive your message and contact details.
- Technical data: our hosting provider processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site. To limit spam, the enquiry API keeps a one-way fingerprint of your IP address (not the address itself) with the enquiry record.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, passwords, bank or card details, Aadhaar or other government ID numbers, or health information through this website.
04Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, ask follow-up questions, arrange a demo or walkthrough, and send a quote or proposal you asked for.
- To consider a job or internship application you sent us.
- To keep a record that you consented, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting duties if a contract follows.
- To keep the website secure and stop spam and abuse.
05Consent and withdrawing it
We use the data you send through the enquiry form on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the unticked box “I agree to Boat Brothers contacting me about this enquiry and to the Privacy Policy”. Without it the form cannot be sent; you can still email or call us instead.
You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: email admin@boatbrothers.in from the address you used, or reply “stop” to any message from us. We then stop contacting you about the enquiry and delete it, except what we must keep by law. Withdrawal does not affect anything done before it.
07Where it is stored
Our website and data run on cloud servers outside India, currently in Singapore. Some service providers, such as Web3Forms and our email providers, may process data in other countries. We only use providers that protect data with reasonable security practices, and we will follow any restriction the Government of India places on transfers to particular countries.
08How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 2 years from your last contact with us, unless a contract follows. The copy on our website admin page is deleted automatically after 90 days; the copy in our inbox is deleted within the 2 years.
- If a contract follows: for as long as the contract runs and then as long as tax, accounting and company law require (generally 8 years).
- Job applications: up to 1 year, unless you join us.
- Consent records: 7 years, so we can prove consent if asked.
- Spam-limit counters: 1 hour; the IP fingerprint stored with an enquiry record goes with it after 90 days.
09How we protect it
All traffic uses HTTPS. Enquiry records sit behind a password-protected, signed and expiring admin session; only authorised staff can read them. We keep provider access to the minimum needed. If a personal data breach happens, we will inform the Data Protection Board of India and the people affected, as the DPDP Act and its Rules require.
10Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Access: ask what personal data we hold about you, how we use it and who we have shared it with.
- Correct or update data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erase data we no longer need, or withdraw consent (see above).
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
Email admin@boatbrothers.in to use any of these rights. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We reply within the timelines below.
11Grievance Officer and complaints
Our Grievance Officer is Rahul Sarkar, Chief Operating Officer. Write to admin@boatbrothers.in or call +91 81338 10323, or post a letter to the address above marked “Grievance Officer”.
- We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours.
- We resolve it within 15 days, and never later than one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act, through the Board’s official website or the process the Government of India notifies. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
12Children
This website and our products are for businesses, government bodies and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their data, email us and we will delete it.
13Our products have their own notices
This notice covers the website only. Each Boat Brothers product shows its own privacy notice inside the product:
- Luit (Luit Console and Luit AI tender search) and Luit Field (the site app): the client company that runs Luit decides how its staff’s data is used and is the data fiduciary; Boat Brothers processes it on that company’s behalf. The notice is shown in the console and the app at sign-in.
- Khata AI: Boat Brothers is the data fiduciary for account holders. Read the Khata AI privacy policy.
14Changes to this notice
When we change this notice we update its version and effective date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again before using it in the new way.
